The Sino-US International Conference for Public Administration

In 2002, the First Sino-US International Conference for Public Administration was held in Beijing. It was co-sponsored by School of Public Administration and Policy, Renmin University of China; School of Public Affairs and Administration, Rutgers University at Newark; Chinese Public Administration Society and American Society for Public Administration, with the objectives to enhance exchange between Sino-US public administration academics, to share the latest research works, and eventually promote the development in the field of public administration. Since its initiation, the Sino-US International Conference for Public Administration has been held every two years. Due to its regularity, large number of participants and academic excellence, it has grown into a significant exchange platform for Sino-US public administration academics.

The first three and the Sixth Sino-US International Conferences on Public Administration were hold in Renmin University of China. The Fourth Sino-US International Conference for Public Administration was hosted by School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA)Rutgers - The State University of New Jersey. Xiamen University hosted the Fifth Sino-US International Conference for Public Administration. The conferences have attracted extensive attention world-wide in public administration academics. Scholars around the world have actively taken part in the conferences. In 2002, Mr. Jianmin HUA, the then- Secretary-General of State Council and State Councilor, met the 15-member representative delegation of The First Sino-US International Conference for Public Administration. The proceedings of the First and the Third Sino-US International Conference for Public Administration have been published by China Renmin University Press and the proceeding of the Second, the Fourth and the Fifth Sino-US International Conference for Public Administration is published in the United States.
